Old Doors, Wood Doors, Antique Doors

Ok.. many of you are wondering why in the world I'm and madly trying to hunt down a few old antique doors. Just as my 2 cent side note, I don't have any idea why we are calling these doors antique? They are old. They are someone's junk. They are beat and worn and need a lot of TLC. Why do they cost so much money??? Anyway... I have been thinking about MAYBE doing a DIY photo booth. Being as frugal as I am I just refuse to pay someone for this. So for the last 10 months I have been thinking about how I wanted to create this photo booth. About 2 weeks ago it hit me like a truck... DOORS! I drew out a picture of how I wanted this photo backdrop to look, showed it to my parents to make sure my design could be carried out the way I pictured it. While searching for antique doors, I came across this...

The doors in the background are EXACTALLY what I have been seeing in my head for 2 weeks now!! So Friends ... Family ... if you know where I can get me some of these doors PLEASE let me know!!!!

Can you believe we passed this place up?

When we started our venue search, I only looked at 2 venues before making my decision. This wedding was at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek. The second place we looked at. I couldn't see "our" wedding here, but this wedding is fabulous!

DIY Printed Candles: thanks to sparkleandhay.com

This DIY project from the L is for LOVE inspiration shoot with Suzanna March Photography  is one of my favorites!  Something about printed candles just adds instant chic factor and are (again) so simple to do!
What you need:
White or Ivory candles; tapers or pillars
Non-toxic Ink pad (tip: pigment based ink works better, however for health reasons due to burning, it is best to use a non-toxic ink)
Large printed rubber stamp (tip: the less ornate the pattern the better)
1) Gather materials
2) Turn the stamp on its backside, rubber side up and evenly spread the ink pad across the stamp (tip: wiping it across the stamp works better than pressing down)
3) Slowly, and pressing as evenly as possible, roll the candle across the inked stamp.  Take time to properly line up longer tapered candles as it will take more than one roll.
4) Carefully place to the side and let dry.  Be careful – these will smear at first until they are fully dry, particularly if you are using a washable/non-toxic ink.
And that’s it! Now use as a part of your wedding (or home) decor!

Rustic Chic Reception Tables

I just love all things rustic chic! I wish I could do something a little more like this for 6.11.11. I have a new obsession with burlap and I am getting anxious to see how all of my planning will turn out on the 11th of June!

Bridal Portraits

My bridal portraits are scheduled for April 22nd aka Good Friday! I have been looking for the perfect place. The area must be:
1. a rustic field... something in the country
2. must must must have hay!

Any suggestions???

Table Beauty

I was thinking about my tables and all of a sudden it came to me ... burlap and lace!!! I thought it would be perfect to have burlap and lace runners on each tale. So just to see what my idea looked like I googled (a favorite hobby of mine) and I came across this ...

I fell in L.O.V.E! This is the perfect rustic chic touch to add to my decor!!! I am making these myself. As much as I Love etsy.com, I love money in my wallet more! I ordered all of the burlap fabric and bought the lace ribbon at hobby lobby. All together it comes to about $2 per runner!!!

Me a Blogger? Who knew?

Ok I am new to the world of blogging. I have been following several wedding blogs since I started my wedding planning process. And now that we are fast approaching our wedding date, I have new ideas everyday. I decided I wanted to share some of the amazing and maybe not so great ideas I have for 6.11.11.
